WORLD MASTERS TIME TRIAL CHALLENGE 2007
Congratulations to all six clubs in this year's WMTTC. It is nice to see the Challenge, which started in 1997 between the EMCC and the VTTA Manchester and NW District, slowly expanding. It should be noted that Redbridge and Hamilton PR have had their own international duel going every year since 1987. Hope to "see" you all again next year!
Age Name   ACTUAL +/- TEAM
Edmonton Masters Cycling Club - August 26 - Darwell
46 Copeland Bruce 51:03 +17:35
75 Bigg Peter 1:08:46 +16:22
54 Heacock Ed 57:07 +15:43
61 Heppleston Peter 1:01:56 +14:48
75 von zur Gathen Heinz 1:10:51 +14:17 +1:18:45
At the start it looked as though it would be a cool but calm and fast morning at Darwell. But a rising NE wind became a headwind all the way back from the turn, and most riders' times - not everyone's! - reflected this.
Ontario Masters Cycling Association - August 12 - Binbrook
64 Springer Chris  1:02:05 +16:23
62 Morris Peter  1:02:39 +14:39
74 Hogarth Ted  1:10:04 +14:26
41 Jack David  52:53 +13:14
48  Allen Iain 57:27 +12:13 +1:10:55
The times were recorded in the OMCA Championship race held at Binbrook on August 12, when we had a good turnout of 10 members. The course is mostly flat, slightly downhill out, with a deceptive false flat coming back. Notorious for heavy winds, on this day Binbrook was very tough with a strong cross-headwind on the return. Some results were not as fast as earlier in the season, but we hope the team aggregate will place well in the Challenge. Thank you for hosting this international event.

The course was just outside Moose Jaw on Highway #2. The race was an out 21km, uphill and 19km back downhill on a rolling road with 165 meters of climbing. The weather was 18 degrees with a 6km SE wind. An all round nice day for a time trial.

48 Bick Gerry 1:00:46  +  8:54
47 Sullivan Geoff 1:02:03  +  7:06  + 53:13
The conditions were not the greatest, with heavy fog (visibility not more than  30 feet  within 10 km from the start/finish line) and light drizzle throughout.  The conditions cleared during the 10 km closest to the 20 km turnaround, where fog lifted and the light rain stopped - the sun was even attempting the break through.  There was a  10 - 15 km/hr N.E. cross wind. Eight brave souls completed the event under these less than ideal conditions.
